After breakfast, journey to Nuremberg with a stop in the UNESCO-listed town of Bamberg, one of Germany's most beautiful medieval cities that escaped damage during WWII. Full day excursion to Bavaria's most famous sight - the fairytale Neuschwanstein Castle. Built by "Mad King" Ludwig II and the inspiration for Disney's Sleeping Beauty Castle, this 19th-century Romanesque Revival palace is set against the backdrop of the Alps. After touring the castle, stop at the charming village of Oberammergau, famous for its once-a-decade Passion Play and skilled woodcarvers. Return to Munich in the late afternoon. Evening farewell dinner at the world-famous Hofbräuhaus beer hall, featuring Bavarian specialties and traditional music. Overnight in Munich.
After breakfast, morning tour of Munich's highlights, including the impressive Residenz palace complex, the English Garden (one of the world's largest urban parks), and the BMW World showcasing the famous Bavarian motor company. Time permitting, visit the somber Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site just outside Munich.
